Seminar Overview

This half-day seminar is for employees with a responsibility for fire safety in Public Houses, Clubs, Restaurants, Premises Providing Public Entertainment, and similar premises.

The seminar covers the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005; how to carry out a basic fire risk assessment in the above type premises; emergency plans and the training of staff.

Who should attend?

Nominated competent persons, who have a responsibility for completing a 'suitable and sufficient' fire risk assessment. Those who are responsible for fire safety in premises that are licensed.

It is also suitable for persons who have a direct responsibility for developing or improving fire evacuation procedures in their premises.

Objectives

By the end of the seminar our delegates will have:

  • A better understanding of the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
    2005 as they apply to Licensed Premises.
  • A basic understanding of how to complete a simple fire risk assessment.
  • A better understanding of the 'general fire precautions' that are required in these types of premises.
  • An understanding of the importance of regular fire drills and recognition of fire service best practice.
  • An understanding of the various methods of evacuation and accounting and determine the best method for their workplace.
  • The nature of fire and smoke.
  • An overview of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
  • Fire risk assessment.
  • Evacuation systems and accounting methods.
  • Staff fire training.
